The .cover files have a copy of the Python source with an 8 character margin inserted in front of each line, with either the number of executions for a statement or a &#039;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt; &#039;  to indicate executable lines that weren&#039;t executed.</description>
